[IMG]http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u99/BosChargerSRT/DSCN2566.jpg[/IMG] now i hope you have a good shop lamp or flash light or in a well lighted area. looking behind the metal shield, you'll see the elbows for the steering column and they go into a big black rubber boot. the boot helps protect the steering column and interior from getting water in and damaging components. [IMG]http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u99/BosChargerSRT/DSCN2573.jpg[/IMG] you wanna push back the rubber boot to expose the white protector cup. this is optional as well, because you could always spray into the opening of the boot, which will still drip into the white cup, which surrounds the steering column bottom. it just makes it easier to see what your doing if you do push the black boot back. here is a pic with the boot pushed back. Wed, 01 Sep 2010 17:47:37 -0700 http://www.spacecitylx.com/index.php/forum/12-ask-the-members/15767-transmission-queston#15823 im pretty sure you have a 5 speed. the older models, however, will only show 4 gears in stick mode because the 5th gear is overdrive and is never used in a "performance" application like auto-sticking is assumed to be. to get back into 5th gear (D).. hold the stick to the (+) sign for 2-3 seconds and it will go back to "normal". this was how even the early SRT8's operated. i have seen updated PCM flashes that allow you to shift into 5th gear in stick mode that can be applied by somebody with a starscan (dealership). i have also seen old predator CROM files cause this to happen to cars that it didnt happen to before, this can be fixed by updated to later predator CROM files. however, there is nothing wrong with the car (if indeed you do have a 5spd) its just the "old" programming.
