With little funds and a lot of determination the 2011 Houston Autorama participating members from SCLX were able to pull it off. We got together a few months ago at Mark Scott's shop throwing around ideas and trying to come up with a plan.
On Tuesday of Thanksgiving week we pulled in to the GRB to lay down our flooring and put together our SCLX flag. We finished up on Wednesday when everyone showed up and positioned each car into its assigned spot. There was a great amount of team work and determination from all praticipants. The display looked awesome.
The show opened on Thursday with people drooling over every piece of machinery in the building. We talked to a lot of people about the cars and the club and handed out a couple hundred tag cards. It was great to see so many members come out to the show. I know all of the participants appreciate all the support from SCLX.
On Saturday we attended the awards with all the SCLX participants winning a trophy:
Scott Deweese - Class Award
Larry Stehling - Outstanding in Class Award
Scott Wilkinson - Outstanding in Class Award
Clint Hudnall - Outstanding in Class Award
Shayna Watson - Class Award
Justin Crawford - Class Award
Mark Scott - Best in Class Award
Tom Ledoux - Outstanding in Class Award (for his classic 'Cuda)
Gary Jones - Best in Class Award (for his classic 'Cuda)
This was SCLX's first year in Autorama. Judging by all the fun and excitement I saw from each member I know it will not be the last.
