SCLX Family,
Well the dust has settled and 2012 has arrived. I have a lot to say about 2012, but we’ll save that for another time. My purpose today is to take a quick look back into an amazing 2011 for Space City LX Modern Mopar.
In 2011, we continued to sharpen our focus on strengthening the member-to-member connections that make up of this great organization. Our “AREA COORDINATORS” continued to provide local functions for members through mini meets, driveway mod meets, membership drives, and caravans to the larger club events.
Our event calendar continued to offer a variety of options. We had two set events every month on the 1st Saturday and the 3rd Friday. Houston Coffee and Cars is where we gather with the rest of the Houston car culture and showcase what Modern Mopar is all about. Our Central Meet and Greet is the perfect “first event” because of it’s relaxed atmosphere and new members came out in droves. In addition to the above monthly events, we also slotted various member-preferred activities. Cruises, mod meets, dyno days, car shows, charity efforts, the list goes on.
Our media and photography team do a tremendous job capturing the essence of these events every time we gather. We also provide an event recap on the website for those that may have missed it. They also provide the new member with a chance to see what our events are like. Many times the photos and event summaries happen within hours of the event thanks to our great volunteers in those areas. If you have seen them , please take a look at the sections on the Launch Pad part of our website. Next time you see someone with a camera at an event, thank them for the efforts to document what we do week in an out.
In 2011 we leveraged our social media activities through Facebook and Twitter to connect with organizations like Allpar, Drive SRT, Chrysler, Dodge, Mopar, Pennzoil, as well as other Modern Mopar clubs and events. In everything we do, we have one goal in mind - how to make SCLX better for you the members.
One of the biggest highlights was the inaugural launch of LONE STAR MOPAR FEST. Words just cannot describe the feeling of taking an idea that was developed a couple years ago into what happened last October. Simply amazing! If you haven’t marked your calendar, LSMF2012 is slated for October 20th. With your help we will pull off another fantastic event.
In the coming days, you will see additional communications and media about some exciting things for 2012 and how your involvement will make it happen. For now, take a moment with me, sit back for a second, let that big smile hit your face and think about what you’ve done this year.
- Because of you SCLX had an amazing year of growth in membership.
- Because of you great progress was made in how members connect with fellow members in local areas.
- Because of you each member has an opportunity to learn about their car and make new friends.
At the next event, take a couple minutes, come find me and share with me what this little owners community we call SCLX means to you.
Thank you for your continued support and participation. You are the heartbeat of this organization. Our statements “The cars bring us together, our members set us apart” and “Members helping Members” are more than just sayings... it’s who we are and it’s what we do.
All the best,
