The weather could not be better for a cruise to Galveston. A group of over 50 Chrysler 300s, Dodge Chargers, Magnums, Challengers, and Jeep GC SRTs caravanned together for lunch and a photo. Area Coordinators lead mini-groups to make sure everyone arrived safe. Spencer, the manager at Golden Corral was very glad that we make this trip each year. Members were generous as always and left over $100 in a tip pool for the wait staff assigned to our reserved sections.
After some time in Galveston, part of the crew (31 cars) travelled to spend the evening at the Kemah Saturday Night Cruise. We are glad to see increasing participation at this event from our South and Southeast members. There are new members each week joining SCLX because of the exposure and we thank you. Speaking of new members, estimates are over 20% of this event participation was first time attendees.... that's wonderful and we hope to see you all again soon.
Big thanks to Tom Ledoux who lead a team of Area Coordinators and pulled this event off without a hitch. In a rare instance, the entire Leadership Team had prior commitments for the day and rather than upset the normal Main Event schedule (2nd Saturday of the month) the club staff stepped up and coordinated an event at the usual level of excellence members have come to expect.
